With thanks to the National Portrait Gallery this amazing exhibition returns to Aberystwyth for 2011.
The works on display are selected from what has become the world’s most well known portrait competition.
With a total of 58 works on show, they have been hand picked from almost 2200 entries from around the globe.
Also on display are the works of three shortlisted artists including David Eichenberg, Michael Gaskell and Daphne Todd whose entries impressed the judges last year. Also included is work from the Travel Award winner Isobel Peachey who documented people taking part in the re-enactment of historical events whilst travelling all the way from Belgium and Switzerland.
The collections includes a range of works, from intimate images of friends and family to revealing portraits of celebrities.
The exhibition is a National Portrait Gallery touring exhibition and is in Aberystwyth Arts Centre from 2nd February to 26th March in Gallery 1. Entry is free.
