Free Carol Service At The National Library

carol service national libraryOn Wednesday 15th December the National Library of Wales will be hosting a festive carol service to light up the Christmas period

Starting at 1pm, the service is free for all, but you must get a ticket in advance.

For tickets, please drop into or phone the National Library of Wales.




The service will be honest in partnership with the Aberystwyth Evangelical Church and the National Library Staff Association.


Some come along, sing along, and fill yourself with some Christmas cheer this December.


This carol and plygain service promises to make you feel good about the festive season!


And for those of you who aren’t sure what a plygain service is:

“The tradition of plygain involved getting up for early morning singing services, between 3am and 6am in the morning darkness. The plygain itself was an abbreviated form of morning service, whihc would find itself interspersed with and followed by carols which were sung by soloists and groups.”
