Parc Penglais

Parc Penglais Parc Penglais, which was once owned by the Penglais Estate, was donated to the town by the University of Aberystwyth.

It is an excellent place to enjoy short woodland walks, and take in the breath taking views available over the town itself.

The park itself is well known locally for its diverse wildlife and wonderful floral displays all year round, most notably the wild bluebells in early spring.

With several footpaths working their way across this mix of old quarry and beech woodland, it is a great place to enjoy a relaxing stroll, or a great alternative route down penglais hill if you get sick of the path following the main road.

Parc Penglais can be accessed from several locations:

    1. Opposite the main entrance to the Aberystwyth University Penglais Campus (as shown in the picture)
    2. Following the pathway located on the grassed area, at the turn off for North Road
    3. From the cut through near the top of Heol-Y-Bryn Road (off Penglais Hill Road)
    4. From the cut through above the bus stop, heading up Penglais Hill Road (opposite Bronglais Hospital)
