Royal Commission Staff May Face Redundancy
Staff at the Royal Commision of Ancient and Historial Monuments have been placed under a gagging style order over threats to their future.
The commision is in the early stages of examining a merger with Welsh Heritage body CADW in what can only be assumed to be a cost cutting measure.
At present around 50 staff are employed by the Royal Commission, and all could be facing redundancy.
The offices below Brynderw Halls of Residence are the current home to the body which has worked since 1908 on promoting the importance and understanding of monuments in Wales which are part of the country’s rich heritage.
Although the Welsh Government says that the process is in the very early stages there are fears that positions would be merged or moved to Cardiff where CADW is currently based.
