Aberystwyth town centre is to benefit from a further £800,000 of investment after Ceredigion County Council was awarded additional funds by the Welsh Government.
The council will use the money to add to the pot for its TIG programme (Town Improvement Grant) which is used to help improve the appearance of buildings in the town centre.
It is hoped a more aesthetically pleasing town centre will provide a boost to businesses as more people flock to Aberystwyth.
Not only that but the funding should also provide a boost to contractors in the local area who will carry out much of the work, which will also work to provide higher quality and therefore more desirable retail units within the town centre.
The funding has been granted as part of the Regeneration Area programme run by the Welsh Assembly, more detail on which can be found on our website.
