An investigation is underway after a train has derailed on its way to Aberystwyth.
The 18:09 from Birmingham has just left Welshpool station when several wheels left the track causing the carriage to derail.
Five emergency vehicles attended the scene at 20:15 and luckily no one was hurt.
Both passengers and Network Rail staff were evacuated and the fire service were in attendance. Those travelling included a heavily pregnant woman.
The line is well known for closures in the late autumn and winter, with large amounts of leaves on the line along with floods in the Dyfi Estuary. However, a train derailing is of course very rare.
Only those travelling in the front carriage were affected, with the rear carriages managing to stay on the track.
