The Vale of Rheidol is a narrow gauge railway which once served the silver and lead mines of Devil’s Bridge and the surrounding areas in the Cambrian Mountains. In 1968 it became the final steam railway to be operate by British Rail and was eventually taken in to private ownership and is now a registered charity which works to preserve the railways heritage by running regular pleasure trips climbing up the scenic Rheidol Valley. Details of dates and times can be found on their website and vary depending on the time of year.
